The crux of an estimate is an items framework deriving in a structure of cost specifications per item, that defines the needed resources and it’s prices. Ticon´s estimation module provides powerful functionality suiting almost every project type. Estimations can be created based on Ticon´s engineering stage´s data. The estimator’s freedom to define the structure of the estimate –not depending on the object structure of the estimate’s source- to meet his needs is the ultimate power of Ticon’s estimation module. The estimate is the foundation for other functions like planning, procurement and cost control.

If selected, every estimate item has a link with on object, thus providing insight in the data´s origin. The result: better insight and grip on the consequences of specification changes during a project.

It is possible to set up estimation for different types of projects. The setup for a road construction estimate is different from the setup of a general building estimate. Ticon provides the flexibility to define various profiles containing specific feature settings and screen settings. Different profiles may be used simultaneously.

An important element of estimation is the costs specification based on norm rows. Norm rows define the resources required for realising the item. Resources like personnel, materials, equipment or subcontractors. On estimation level, a total view of all required resources is always available.

Ticon’s estimation provides the possibility to display an estimate in many ways, e.g. based on activities, object or construction parts.

The estimate can be based on object data of either a BIM or objects tree from System engineering. If so, the original object data will always be visible from the estimate item within estimation.

Ticon supports the use of standard libraries. A extreme powerful feature is the possibility to use any estimate, available in the system, as a library. It is possible to copy prices used in libraries automatically. This prevents a great deal of double input and will save much time.

For extensive projects, in which, quite often, multiple disciplines are involved, it is possible to create multiple sub-estimates. These can be used separately or combined to a single overall estimate for the project.
